Many organizations around the world are planning group rides and activities for youth riders to connect with trails. Even if you can’t find an organized event, consider bringing a young family member along for a ride.
City donates land for pump track
Harlingen, Texas
The city of Harlingen, Texas has donated land for the Valley Off-Road Bicycling Association (VORBA) to build a bike skills area including a pump track. VORBA also received a $150,000 grant to help fund the project.
1-mile beginner’s trail opens in Virginia

A new mile-long, beginner-friendly mountain bike trail opened last week at Sugar Hollow park in Bristol. The build was supported by SORBA Tri-cities and was funded with $20,000 in donations from the local community.
Old Fort, North Carolina Trails get big bump in funding
Old Fort, North Carolina
The state of North Carolina has allocated $2.5 million that will help build 25-30-miles of trail in Old Fort over the next two years, the G5 Trail Collective announced on Instagram. The organization also said it will help bring the project closer to completion by 2025.
