Durango Derby Registration Opens
Registration is open for the second annual Durango Derby mountain bike race in Durango, Colorado. The race takes place on Durango’s world famous singletrack and totals four stages, three untimed transfers and 40 miles. The race will have 2- and 4-person team categories as well as solo and will sit on the new Durango Mesa Park for its venue. The Derby happens September 1st.

Inglewood gets a pump track
Los Angeles, California
Thrillist reports that the new pumptrack in Edward Vincent Jr. Park in Inglewood is the first one in all of Los Angeles. The asphalt track was built by Velosolutions and features two different courses.
Mountain biking allowed in park on trial basis
Napa, California
City officials in Napa have OK’d mountain biking in Alston Park on a trial basis. According to Visit Napa Valley, Alston Park is 157 acres and includes three miles of trails previously open to just hikers and equestrians.
New Spider Mountain Trail
Burnet, Texas
Spider Mountain, the lift-served bike park in Texas announced on Instagram they are working on cutting a new trail. There aren’t any other details at the time, except that it may be used on the mountain’s High Country Downhill race on February 9.
New Mexico Bike Park
Farmington, New Mexico
Construction of a new bike skills park in Farmington, New Mexico funded by the San Juan College will begin this spring. The project was awarded a $400,000 contract by San Juan college, according to the Farmington Daily Times, and will be built by the American Ramp Company. The total cost of the park is expected to be $600,000.
Bridge repair restores trail access

Bike Hub reports that popular bike trails and bridges have reopened in Elgin Valley following devastating floods in September. Wines2Whales, Epic, Ride the Cape, KaapAgri, Cannondale, local landowners, and private individuals assisted with funding and repairs.
Chicago groups pushing for new singletrack
Chicago, Illinois
Residents of South Side Chicago are fundraising to construct new trails in the Big Marsh Park, a former industrial dump site. The park already includes jump lines and trails, and this push for $1.5 million would add eight new trails, four of them natural surface. Click here to donate and see the project.
